CLASSES CHECK OUR "CALENDAR AT A GLANCE" ONGOING CLASSES Placement into our Monday Night Advanced Class is by audition or arrangement by Seth Michael. Monday Classes are taught by Seth Michael. For more information please call at 917-805-9899 In NYC, Improv has come to mean Comedy. This is different. This is the most effective way of working on your acting skills though Improvisation. It's become the training ground for advanced actors who don't do Improv and advanced Improvisers who want more acting skills. Improvisation is more about creativity than cleverness. It's a tool rather then a show. It's more a journey then a destination. Every Class Starts with a warm up. The warm ups will change depending on the needs of the class or the focus of that particular session. They include Sensory Warm-ups, Tense and Release Exercises, as well as other exercises influenced by Michael Chekov and Jerzy Grotowski. When you first join either of these classes we design exercises and facilitate scene work dealing with the following : Focus, listening, impulses and playing the scene. We explore knowing how to serve yourself, the scene, listening, playing with your partner and point of view. Finding and honoring the surprising, creative impulses and characters that live within you. And Filtering all information in the scene through your point of view. |

Without these tools, scenes often fall
apart. |

| "Specificity
is one of the most effective tools in improvisation and easiest to do. Specificity is bring details to your scene... not being specific is another result of fear." --Mick Napier (Improvise. Scene from the inside out) |
